Com "S&M" no topo da parada de singles da Billboard, Rihanna estabeleceu dois novos recordes. A cantora, com apenas 23 anos, é a artista mais jovem a colocar 10 músicas no topo da Hot 100 e a mais rápida.
De acordo com Billboard entre o primeiro e o décimo #1 Rihanna demorou 4 anos e 11 meses entre se. A cantora ultrapassou a colega Mariah Carey que levou 5 anos e 5 meses entre "Vision of Love" em 1990 (primeiro número um) e "One Sweet Day" (décimo) em 1995. Agora, Rihanna só perde para Beatles (um ano e oito meses) e The Supremes (dois anos e oito meses).

"Décimo! Olhem o que vocês fizeram! #RihannaNavy Vocês arrasaram! Muito obrigada. Esta é a melhor das notícias", escreveu a cantora no microblog na tarde desta quarta-feira, 20.
"S&M" foi lançado no início do ano e bombardeado de polêmicas desde o início, começando pela letra da música. A referência sadomasoquista levou rádios inglesas a mudarem o nome da música para "Come On" e renomearem para o título original em sequência. O clipe foi banido em 11 países e acusado de reproduzir obras do fotógrafo David Lachapelle sem autorização.
